Guidelines for Online Presentations

  • Please confirm your presentation slot by registering for the conference and paying the applicable conference fees by June 15, 2023. Co-authors are also required to register and pay if they will be attending the conference.
    • You may refer to the registration fees and payment methods posted on the conference website, or as indicated in our earlier confirmation email. Kindly review the rates that apply to you based on your registration (international rates, local rates). International presenters are still covered by the early bird rates.
  • Presenters who have registered and have fully paid all applicable fees are automatically confirmed for their presentation slots.
    • Each presentation is given a 25-minute slot. Please prepare for a 15-minute presentation, and a 10-minute Question and Answer with both onsite and online participants.
    • Please await updates as to your presentation schedule.
    • There will be no need to submit a full conference paper to us.
    • Given our hybrid setup (both in-person and online audiences), and to minimize technical difficulties, all online presentations should be pre-recorded and the file (together with a copy of your slides in PowerPoint, PDF, or Google Slides format) should be submitted by July 15, 2023 via this form. We are requesting a video recording of your presentation to ensure the quality streaming of your presentation. This is to anticipate the risk of intermittent internet connection from both ends, especially in the Philippines where Internet connection is not always reliable.
    • We are also requesting a copy of your slides since these will be screen-shared over Zoom during your presentation, and so that we have them on hand in case of technical difficulties. Kindly upload them to the same Google Form. We suggest using typefaces and font sizes that are readable even on small screens. Here are some tips for designing virtual presentation slides.
    • Rest assured that these files will only be accessible to the conference organizers and will only be shown during your actual presentation.
  • Please follow these specifications for your presentation recording. Files that do not follow these specifications will be returned to the presenter for further editing.
    • Acceptable video file formats: mov, avi, mp4
    • Record in the highest resolution setting possible on your device.
    • Duration should be at a maximum of 15 minutes.
    • Landscape format only.
    • Maximum size of 10 GB.
    • Provide a voiceover for your slideshow. The audio must be clear. Use an external microphone or headset if possible and eliminate background noise.
    • The presenter/s can also opt to be visible on the screen along with the slideshow. Here are examples of how that might look:

  • While your presentation will be streamed, please be present throughout the duration of your presentation schedule, especially during the Q&A portion, which will happen live.
  • Please keep in mind that conference participants are undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and professionals from different disciplines and nationalities, possessing varying levels of familiarity with critical realism.
